Corey Johnson
President
Corey graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management in 1998. In 2002 he was one of the original founders of G.A. Johnson Construction as a project manager and estimator. In 2007 Corey was promoted to President and oversees the company’s operations and remains active in the company’s construction activities as a project manager/estimator.
Experienced with providing his clients with projects produced within budget with an excellent track record of being on time, every project is looked at as if they were his own. From educational facilities, medical facilities, government work, restaurant, pre-engineered metal buildings, to residential remodeling, Corey’s philosophy has been to treat every client in a professional manner but also in a close friend and family oriented business structure.
Corey is currently active in the AGC and HBA and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of South Dakota.
Corey enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, and when time permits, has a passion for hunting along with archery, fishing, snowmobiling, racquetball, and occasionally a round of golf.
Gerald (Jerry) Johnson
CEO
Jerry spent 26+ years managing a top 500 Architectural, Engineering and Construction firm where he was President and CEO of the construction division. He utilizes the same leadership skills and along with his broad understanding of architecture, engineering and construction services. He is experienced in building correctional facilities, schools, hospitals, banks, medical clinics, churches, commercial, and industrial facilities. Jerry excels in conceptual estimating and value engineering which is an asset for achieving the best possible design for the best value product at the lowest possible cost.
Jerry is actively involved with the AGC of South Dakota where he is currently the chairman of the Legislative Committee and SDSU Construction Management Advisory Council as well as several national committees.
Jerry has strong family values and promotes the concept by being a role model for all his employees. Jerry enjoys family events, socializing with friends, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing his guitar and coaching soccer.
Stan C. Wheelock
Project Manager / Estimator
Stan’s interest in building and managing developed early; he first enjoyed watching and then working with his father on all types of construction building projects. Although it has been over 40 years ago that he completed his formal education as an architectural draftsman, he as been exposed to construction and building his entire life. Stan spent two years on active duty in the USNR aboard the USS Air-Craft Carrier Ticonderoga, working in the Electronics Department and is a Viet Nam War Veteran.
Stan has worked his adult life as a draftsman, woodworking and cabinet shop supervisor, commercial estimator, project manager, expeditor and construction manager. He has developed from looking to his mentors for direction to becoming a mentor.
Stan has worked on almost every type of a commercial building project. From a 55 acre, multiple building, Department of Transportation Regional Complex, to large high schools, elementary schools, churches, banks, hospitals, medical offices, bid box stores, parking ramps, mall renovations, correctional facilities and pre-engineered building.
An Advocate for safety, he has actively participated on the AGC State Safety Committee since 1980, being part of the committee when it selected, hired and set the early standards and program for their first Safety Director. He is currently member of the state and national ACG Safety Committees as well as the National Contractor Relations Committee.
Stan enjoys being a husband, father and grandfather, spending as much time with family and friends as possible. He also enjoys watching, movies, TV and is known to get up early just to tackle the morning paper Sudoku puzzle.
Michael Johnson
Secretary / Treasurer / Project Manager / Estimator
Upon earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business economics, Michael wasted no time in starting his own contracting business. Michael specializes in EFIS finishes for commercial and residential projects and builds custom executive homes.
He is an active member of the Sioux Empire Home Builders Association and the AGC of South Dakota. He is a licensed applicator in Sto, Dryvit, Ultra-Tex, and Armourcoat Polished Plaster.
Michael enjoys quality time with his family and enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, trap shooting, and snowmobiling.
Tim Schultz
Project Manager / Estimator
Tim joined the GA Johnson Construction Team in June of 2007. He has an extensive background in construction which began in his early teen years where he worked in all areas of General Construction in his family’s contracting and construction management businesses. He has spent the second half of his career as a draftsman, estimator and project manager for a variety of design build and construction management projects of diverse sizes including new Ethanol Plants, upgrades and expansions on existing Ethanol Plant facilities throughout the mid United States and variety of Commercial and Light Commercial Projects in the Sioux Falls area. He is highly proficient with AutoCAD and other computer based software programs. Tim has a high degree of experience with architectural lead drafting, conceptual and construction estimating, project scheduling and project management duties.
Tim values quality time with his family, watching and attending automotive and motorcycle racing events, riding and touring on his motorcycle, camping and working on home improvement projects around his house.
Mark Rave
Superintendent
Mark has been doing hands on building for over 20 years and continues to produce quality and quantity projects on time and within budget. His years of experience make him excellent in managing multi-million dollar projects as well as small ones. Mark has been with the company since May of 2002. He is responsible as a general overall superintendent for the company’s various jobsites, carpenter crews, and the jobsite supervision of subcontractors and material suppliers for all trades.
He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and is currently a volunteer for the Trent Fire Department. He and his wife, Ruth, enjoy hobby farming, gardening, going to auctions, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Colette Krisher
Accountant
Colette has been compiling and analyzing numbers for over 25 years. She graduated from AIB with an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Administration and worked for several years as an accountant in a CPA office. She moved to South Dakota with her husband in 1988 and has since worked as an accountant in the construction field.
Colette has been with the company since October 2006 and in her free time she enjoys summer activities, horseback riding, and attending rodeos.
