Corey graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management in 1998. In 2002 he was one of the original founders of G.A. Johnson Construction as a project manager and estimator. In 2007 Corey was promoted to President and oversees the company's operations and remains active in the company's construction activities as a project manager/estimator.
Experienced with providing his clients with projects produced within budget with an excellent track record of being on time, every project is looked at as if they were his own. From educational facilities, medical facilities, government work, restaurant, pre-engineered metal buildings, to residential remodeling, Corey's philosophy has been to treat every client in a professional manner but also in a close friend and family oriented business structure.
Corey is currently active in the AGC, HBA and South Dakota Outdoor Adventure Foundation and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of South Dakota.
Corey enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, and when time permits, has a passion for hunting along with archery, fishing, snowmobiling, racquetball, and occasionally a round of golf.
Jerry spent 26+ years managing a top 500 Architectural, Engineering and Construction firm where he was President and CEO of the construction division. He utilizes the same leadership skills along with his broad understanding of architecture, engineering and construction services. He is experienced in building correctional facilities, schools, hospitals, banks, medical clinics, churches, commercial, and industrial facilities. Jerry excels in conceptual estimating and value engineering which is an asset for achieving the best possible design for the best value product at the lowest possible cost.
Jerry is actively involved with the AGC of South Dakota, having served as President in 2013, as well as several national committees.
Jerry has strong family values and promotes the concept by being a role model for all his employees. Jerry enjoys family events, socializing with friends, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing his guitar and coaching soccer.
Craig brings nearly 30 years of design and construction experience to GA Johnson. As a 5-year member of the American Society of Heathcare Engineers, Craig is one of only about 300 nationally Certified Heathcare Constructors (CHC) in the country. To earn this certification by the American Hospital Association, an individual must satisfy eligibility requirements that incorporate a blend of professional experience and education, adhere to the AHA Professional Standards of Conduct, and pass the CHC Certification examination which includes competency in Industry Fundamentals of Planning, Design and Construction processes, Healthcare Safety, and Financial Stewardship. Craig has managed Healthcare projects ranging from small office remodels to an $18 million dollar ground up Critical Access Hospital. Other projects include libraries, office buildings, banks, retail stores, and museums ranging from very small to over $10 million dollars.
Many of Craig’s projects have been in a Design-Build format. Having worked directly with several architectural firms has given Craig a unique appreciation for design and the collaborative approach to delivering building projects.
Personal interests are family time, playing trombone in several local groups, water sports, and driving his 1977 MGB. Craig is actively involved on Church Council and is a member of the El Riad Shrine in Sioux Falls.
Secretary / Treasurer / Project Manager / Estimator
Upon earning a Bachelor of Science degree in business economics, Michael wasted no time in starting his own contracting business. Michael specializes in EFIS finishes for commercial and residential projects and builds custom executive homes.
He is an active member of the Sioux Empire Home Builders Association and the AGC of South Dakota. He is a licensed applicator in Sto, Dryvit, Ultra-Tex, and Armourcoat Polished Plaster.
Michael enjoys quality time with his family and enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, trap shooting, and snowmobiling.
Tim joined the GA Johnson Construction Team in June of 2007. He has an extensive background in construction which began in his early teen years where he worked in all areas of General Construction in his family’s contracting and construction management businesses. He has spent the second half of his career as a draftsman, estimator and project manager for a variety of design build and construction management projects of diverse sizes including new Ethanol Plants, upgrades and expansions on existing Ethanol Plant facilities throughout the mid United States and variety of Commercial and Light Commercial Projects in the Sioux Falls area. He is highly proficient with AutoCAD and other computer based software programs. Tim has a high degree of experience with architectural lead drafting, conceptual and construction estimating, project scheduling and project management duties.
Tim values quality time with his family, watching and attending automotive and motorcycle racing events, riding and touring on his motorcycle, camping and working on home improvement projects around his house.
Marshal graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Construction Management in 2003 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has 11 years of experience estimating and compiling bids for commercial projects throughout a five state area up to $60 million in construction value. Skilled with value engineering construction projects to meet budgets and schedules, Marshal has worked on anything from healthcare and educational facilities, to retail development and detention institutions. Marshal has LEED Accredited Professional credentials and has completed various trainings like Interactive Cost Estimating MC² and Nucor Certified Builder.
Mark has been doing hands on building for over 20 years and continues to produce quality and quantity projects on time and within budget. His years of experience make him excellent in managing multi-million dollar projects as well as small ones. Mark has been with the company since May of 2002. He is responsible as a general overall superintendent for the company’s various jobsites, carpenter crews, and the jobsite supervision of subcontractors and material suppliers for all trades.
He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and is currently a volunteer for the Trent Fire Department. He and his wife, Ruth, enjoy hobby farming, gardening, going to auctions, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Colette has been compiling and analyzing numbers for over 25 years. She graduated from AIB with an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Administration and worked for several years as an accountant in a CPA office. She moved to South Dakota with her husband in 1988 and has since worked as an accountant in the construction field.
Colette has been with the company since October 2006 and in her free time she enjoys summer activities, horseback riding, and attending rodeos.
Mandy graduated in 2009 from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Media and Journalism with a double emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations. Upon graduating and moving to Sioux Falls, she has been working in the marketing field and specializing in event planning, social media, and promotional campaigns.
Mandy is an active member of St. Michael's Parish, involved in the Young Professionals Network, and is currently a board member of New Directions Down Syndrome Association and Co-Director of the Sioux Falls Buddy Walk.
Mandy enjoys quality time with family and friends and spending time outdoors.
